5 Reasons Why I Offer a Holistic Approach to Health and Wellness

December 10th, 2010 • Posted by Steven Metzger • Permalink

Health and wellness is a true gift we all seek. Unfortunately, many seek the quick fix through drugs and medications. I choose the holistic approach for these reasons:

1. We are more than our bodies.

Every human being has a mind, body, and spirit. Each aspect of our being is interwoven with and influences the other aspects of who we are.

2. To heal a part, we need to treat the whole.

When one aspect of our being is out of balance, every other aspect is impacted. For this reason, we must have a holistic, mind-body-spirit approach, when treating any place of dis-ease.

3. To effectively treat the symptoms, we need to address the root causes.

Sometimes emotional distress causes physical pain, and sometimes the reverse is true. By having a bird’s eye view of the whole being, we most effectively can address and resolve a problem spot.

4. The Body is a Sophisticated Pharmacy.

As noted by David Simon, MD – medical director of the Chopra Center for Wellbeing – the most powerful pharmacy is not CVS, Walgreens, or Rite-Aid. It is the human body. In most cases, when we optimize our lifestyle habits and make sure we get rest, care, and nourishment we need, our body’s self-healing mechanism kicks into gear, and we recover from illness.

5. I genuinely care.

With each treatment, I offer not just bodywork, but also compassion, intuition, and a pair of open ears. I feel honored to be invited on the sacred journey of healing and transforming mind, body, and spirit.

Therapist Steve Metzger is both a registered nurse and certified massage therapist with advanced training in many areas of massage and bodywork With over 30 years experience in health care, you have the compassion of a healer and the wisdom of a nurse.

I am not sure why doctors don't refer patients for this work and why insurance will not cover it! It is so simple, and works!!! Nice info, thanks Steve!
